Our popular Full Moon Paddles are back for 2011.  We are pleased to be working with Fenwick Wine Cellars and The Shark on the Harbor once again this year for our wine and food options.  So join us for an enchanted evening and one of the best values at the beach.    

Tours depart at 7:00 PM, but please plan to arrive 20 - 30 minutes early to be outfitted for your tour.

Together with our partners at Paddle House Outfitters we will be raffling off this Regal Pink Ribbon Kayak to benefit Worcester County Women Supporting Women and Komen for the Cure.  We will be selling tickets for $5 each all season long and will raffle the kayak during our second annual Pink Paddle on October 8^th.  (you need not be present to win) So buy your tickets now and start making immediate difference in the fight against breast cancer.  Tickets can be purchased at Ayers Creek Adventures, Paddle House Outfitters, or just send us an email and we can mail you the tickets. 

The Paddle House will be opening on Route 50 West on May 20^th.  If you are in the market for a new kayak stop on by and see Andrew for a boat and all of your paddling gear.

Summer Camps

Ayers Creek Adventures is pleased to once again partner with the Ocean Pines Recreation Department to offer a summer kayaking and eco adventure camp.  Camps will be one full day each and offered on June 24^th and July 22^nd.   Transportation provided from the Ocean Pines Recreation Center.  Register for Camp Kayak Adventure (session 1400) with Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department at 410-641-7717.  Download the full Spring Summer Activities Guide at www.oceanpines.org.   Open to both residents and non residents of Ocean Pines.

DelMarVa Discovery Center will be hosting a Marine Biology Camp for campers aged 6 - 10.  This unique camp provides the campers with a hands on experience in the great outdoors and at the Discovery Center's 16,000 square foot museum.  The camp runs from July 18 - 22^nd, from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Register with the Discovery Center at Discovery Center Camp. 

Forster's Tern

that Forster's Tern build elaborate floating nests in salt marshes?  The nests are constructed of dry marsh grass capable of floating the tern and her young.  The nest is contained in the marsh interior by surrounding vegetation preventing it from drifting into open water.  When the tide rises, the nest floats to accommodate the higher water within the wetland system.  See the full story on our blog at OceanCity.com.  Check back every week or two for more interesting facts and check out OceanCity.com every day for great deals at the beach.

Adventures in Good Company 

It was our pleasure to spend three fantastic days with a group of paddlers from Adventures in Good Company.  Over three days we covered many basic kayaking concepts and enjoyed three progressively challenging paddles, culminating with an Adventure Tour to South Point on Newport Bay.  Although the ladies came with many differing levels of experience, including a first time kayaker, they were up for the challenge and did an amazing job.  Adventures in Good Company offers incredible adventure travel options for women of all ages and abilities.  If you are looking for an exciting travel opportunity please check them out.  We'd also like to thank our partners The Atlantic Hotel in Berlin and The Lighthouse Club Hotel in Ocean City for arranging the details and hosting the travelers.
