Maryland Coastal Bays Program/Surfriders/Town of OC Beach and Bay Cleanup
Date: 4/16/2011 Time: 8:30AM - Noon
On Saturday April 16 the Coastal Bays Program will join with the Ocean City chapter of Surfrider, the town of Ocean City and scores of volunteers for a major cleanup of wetlands, bays and dunes. This year there will be an option to clean up the bays by kayak. If you would like to join us for a cleanup paddle please meet us at the Convention Center by 8:30 AM to get outfitted and get on the water. You may bring your own boat or use one of ours. If you need a kayak and gear please email us at info@ayerscreekadventures.com to reserve your space. Gloves, bags, and a free commemorative Earth Day T-shirt will be provided to all volunteers.

Delmarva Birding Weekend
April 28 - May 1
We will be offering a variety of great tours from both Ayers Creek and Castaways Campground during Delmarva birding weekend. Observe a host of shore birds, songbirds, and raptors during one of our many tours. You don't need to be an expert birder to enjoy birding weekend. Just come on out for a great paddle and learn a bit about the local birds and wildlife.
Birding weekend tour pricing is only $35 per tour. Additional information on all our birding tours can be found on our web site.

2011 Paddling Season
We are open! Currently we are open every weekend and weekdays by appointment. We will be open daily at Ayers Creek beginning May 1st and at Castaways beginning May 27th.  Castaways Camp Ground Tours Don't forget about our new tours and rental options at Castaways Campground this season. We have been exploring this area and are impressed with the variety of wildlife we have observed. The edge of the sea grass is rich with Maryland blue crabs, snapping turtles, fiddler crabs, mullet and mussels. There is also an abundance of waterfowl such as osprey, green heron, great blue heron, snowy egret, great egret, willet and plovers. If you haven't checked out all the improvements at the campground, including the Tiki bar be sure and visit this summer. We hope that you will take advantage of this exciting new offering this season.

Paddle Boards Are Back

If you missed out on our paddle boarding days last season you will be happy to know that we will have paddle boards available every day in 2011. Our friends at DelMarVa Board Sport Adventures will once again be supplying paddle boards for rent on Ayers Creek. Paddle boarding is a great low stress workout and the perfect way to enjoy the scenery and wildlife along the creek.

April 16: Maryland Coastal Bays Beach Sweep and Bay Kayak Clean Up - Help keep the coastal bays pristine by collecting any trash we find in the water and along the salt marshes as we paddle Assawoman and Isle of Wight Bays.
April 28 - May 1: Delmarva Birding Weekend - Observe a host of shore birds, songbirds, and raptors. Select from one of our many observation tours including sunrise and sunset paddles.
May 7: Ayers Creek Adventures Spring Open House - Enjoy Free One Hour Kayak Rentals and Tour Specials
May 8: Mothers Day Paddle - Mom paddles free with at least one child paying full price (tour or rental)
May 13 - 14 Full Moon Tours - Join us 1 hour prior to sunset for a beautiful calm water paddle as we watch the sun set and paddle back in the moonlight to a bonfire complete with wine, cheese, and sweets.
