When we found him, Cash was in bad shape. His legs were swollen to four times their normal size and were severely infected. He had dozens of bite marks all over his front end, his legs, chest and mouth. He was afraid of us, but we were finally able to get him to take some food. We used food to coax him into a crate.
We took him to the vet and the vet says his severely infected puncture wounds are from dog bites. He is also heartworm positive. A few days later, after the infection was controlled, Cash was neutered. They found a bird shot pellet in his testicle and one in his leg. His leg had probably been broken. He was going to be hospitalized for quite awhile.
The vet tells us he is doing better, but his infection is still too bad to start heartworm treatment. He is still terrified of people or doesnt want to be touched because of pain. One of the vet techs is working with him on his fear and leash walking, and say he is improving. We're so relieved! Looks like he's going to be a nice dog.
Cash and Max got to meet before Max died.
As always our vet bill is huge. Please help Cash and all of our Angel Dogs heal.
