Founders' Message
Dear ,
Welcome to 2011, the year to embrace the business of serving seniors. Here's why:
- Starting January 1st and continuing for the next 19 years, 10,000 Americans will turn 65 every day.
- The population of seniors aged 75 and above is expected to increase from 19 million to 44 million between now and 2025.
- Availability of home-based caregivers, including family and other informal providers, is expected to decline 41 percent by 2030.
One great read to incorporate into your strategic planning is the Sept. 2009 white paper "The New Normal: Preparing Aging Services for a New Operating Environment" by the consulting firm LarsonAllen. Author Nancy Rehkamp lays out five current societal changes, mostly related to the recession, and implications of each on providers of aging services. Join us to learn and connect in 2011! Together we can meet the needs of seniors with innovative, economically sound business practices.
Sincerely,
Sheryl Hunter, CEO
