Founders' Message
Dear ,
We are delighted to announce that we have a new website and new domain name dedicated to our growing business of educating and connecting people serving seniors online!
Our new website, www.lifelinesacademy.com, is where you will find all of our online education, the Lifelines Network™ member listings, our blog, and more. On www.lifelinesacademy.com you will discover that we have added over 500 online healthcare courses, providing a convenient way to earn continuing education units (CEUs) in all 50 states. These courses are for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Licensed Nursing Home Administrators, Speech Language Pathologists, Case Managers, Counselors and more.
In addition, we now have 12 Geriatric Care Management courses taught by one of the most experienced care managers in this growing field, Liz Barlowe. Additional courses have been added for family and professional caregivers, senior move managers, and home care businesses, along with general business courses. We welcome your feedback on our new website and invite you to comment on the articles in the blog. You can also submit blog articles by sending them to academy@lifelinesacademy.com for review and consideration. Our community of people serving seniors is what gives life to the Lifelines Academy, so please spread the word about www.lifelinesacademy.com. We must collaborate to prepare our businesses, communities and families for the senior tsunami that has only just begun.
Sincerely,
Sheryl Hunter, CEO

In the News:
INC. magazine Nov 2010 is filled with excellent articles, especially "The Demand Economy" which states matter-of-factly, "In today's economy, the smartest entrepreneurs are satisfying needs, not wants." Guess what market is listed first for the new demand economy? Yes, the aging population. Baby Boomers. Why? That's a matter of fact, too: "By 2030, 71 million Americans will be over age 65, according to the U.S. Census."
INC. has correctly identified that "home health care, much of it for the elderly, is one of the fastest-growing segments in the country's fastest growing industry." That is why Lifelines Academy continues to add online education for people serving seniors - they are needed and fulfilling a need is where you want to be in business! |

Seen & Heard
November is National Family Caregivers Month: Every day, millions of people help their friends, relatives, and loved ones with daily tasks, allowing them to continue living in their own homes and communities. Family caregivers are the backbone of America's long-term care system. In recognition of their contributions, President Obama has proclaimed November Family Caregivers Month.
You can read the President's Proclamation by visiting The White House online. Find resources to help celebrate Family Caregiver Month by visiting the National Family Caregiver Association website. |
