Greetings!
What happened to October? What happens every year to October? It just speeds by and suddenly the holiday season is here! For us, this is the time of year we love. Clear Carolina blue skies bring every leaf and pink bloom of sweetgrass into clarity. In the photograph you see, our sweetgrass is now in full bloom, waving in the cooler breezes. When it is harvested and dried, the Gullah ladies create stunning sweetgrass baskets to sell in downtown Charleston, and the roadsides out of town.
Christmas needlepoint finishing is already returning to the shop. We are always excited when Charlie delivers the boxes full of your wonderful projects to us. It is almost like Christmas for us to bring your treasures out of each box. You will see some wonderful examples of your hard work in this newsletter. Many of you are busy working on holiday knitting projects. If you haven't started yet, have no fear! There is still time, and we have plenty of fabulous yarns in stock to make something for that special someone in your life. even if that someone is YOU.
All of us at It's A Stitch wish you a lovely Thanksgiving with family and friends. If you are in our area, we will have shop hours on Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving! Linda, Margot, Jean, Pat, Lee and Joan

Charley Harper (d. 2007) was a wonderful graphic artist best known for his highly stylized, colorful, and whimsical wildlife illustrations which appeared in books, prints, and posters. Fortunately for all of us, his artwork can now be brought to life on needlepoint canvas. His designs are bold and perfect for decorative stitching. We have many of his designs in the shop.
