Arriving at It's A Stitch soon!
Leigh Designs has introduced a British Dynasty ornament series, and Water Babies to complement her Sirens of the Sea series. Leigh always creates wonderful new designs, but none more fun than her new "Floozies" series. We have ordered a few, including Alehouse Annie, who is dressed to the nines, and sits at a bar, cigar in hand with a full heady mug of beer just waiting to be enjoyed!
Everyone loves pears lately! Notice that both Melissa Shirley and Kelly Clark have designed them as Christmas ornaments. Each designer has created an entire series of them. We have them in the shop as part of the trunk shows. Melissa has two versions; golden pears, and pink pears with designs very adaptable to decorative stitches. They include leaf embellishments for finishing. Kelly Clark's are also unique, and have stitch guides avaiable for all her designs. We saw other designers with pear collections, but we really like Melissa's and Kelly's.
There are new yarns arriving for our knitting customers, from Schaefer Yarns (and a new critter named Toby the Turtle), Tahki Stacey Charles, Sublime, Artyarns, Tillie Tomas, and many more.

The Birds Are Here

We love these unique Clip-on Birds from Labors of Love Needlepoint. Each canvas includes the bird's colorful plumage. Next month we hope to show you a photo of one recently finished which was stitched from a Stitch Guide created by Tony Minieri. Finished projects
Our own Joan Bryce, who helps us in the shop, finished her David McCaskill Halloween Music Box at long last. Congratulations Joan! There were five canvases to stitch, making the sides and top of the box. The tune it plays is,"Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead" from The Wizard of Oz. Isn't it wonderful? We all loved it. Halloween canvases are some of Joan's favorites to stitch, in fact, she will be stitching a Leigh Designs fabulous witch in Tony Minieri's Canvas Embellishment Class in July. We can't wait to see the stitch guide Tony has created for her. You can see Elfrida below.

 Summer has barely begun, and it already feels like those "dog days" of summer. We hope you are enjoying cooler weather wherever you are, since here, all but five days in the month of June were 90+ degrees. The good news is that we can stay cool inside our homes in air-conditioned comfort to stitch or knit. It's a perfect time to work on those Christmas projects.
