 "I am Shieta Black, the HR Manager for the Spokane WA Web.com office. When Web.com partnered with the YMCA on the Corporate Membership Program, I was on my way. I had not worked out since high school gym class. I quickly used my two free trainer sessions to get started on a regular exercise regimen. I started off slowly but have worked my way up to 20 - 30 minutes on the elliptical 3 - 4 times a week and the machine weight circuit a few times a week. The best part, however, has to be the classes. Renee, my instructor, has really helped me find balance and a desire to be better. I have changed my eating habits and I exercise regularly. I have lost 70 lbs and feel stronger, healthier and, quite honestly, sexier than I ever have. I really owe it to Carrie for bringing the YMCA Corporate Membership Program to Web.com, the North Y for always remembering who I am, and my instructor Renee for keeping me motivated."

| Tom Kang and Marcus Riccelli are volunteer advisors for the YMCA's Youth Legislature Delegation program. The program was established to allow interested high school students the opportunity to get involved in the democratic process of our government. Thanks to the YMCA staff and our community partners AVISTA Foundation, Smith-Barbieri Foundation, Progressive Fund, and Red Lion Hotels, Tom and Marcus were able to take 13 of our local high school students to Olympia to participate in a mock session of congress. Located at the Central Spokane YMCA, Discovery Camp is a day camp focused on the core principles of science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM. Each week of camp is structured around a theme designed to educate, engage and expose children to new and creative aspects of learning about the world around them. With field trips to local cupcake shops, hospitals and the sewage treatment plant as well as meeting local FBI agents and video game creators, kids are sure to enjoy themselves.

Spokane
Valley YMCA Locker Room Renovations
In an effort to enhance member satisfaction, we are happy to announce upcoming renovations to your Spokane Valley YMCA. We will be completely renovating the Men's, Women's and Family Locker Rooms. Each of the Locker Rooms will have the following new amenities: resin floors and shower walls, showers, lockers, plumbing features and toilet/shower partitions. In addition to these renovations we will be conducting the annual refinishing of our gymnasium floor. We have outlined the estimated timing of these renovations below.
- July 9 - 15: Family Changing Rooms closed for trench drain installment
- August 13 - Sept 3: Family Changing Rooms closed for renovation
- August 30 - Sept 9: Gymnasium closed for floor refinishing
- Sept 4 - 30: Women's Locker Room closed for renovation
- Oct 1 - 28: Men's Locker Room closed for renovation
