8th Grade President & First Ladies' Projects
PresidentsFirst ladies
In the lead-up to their trip to Washington, D.C. in April, our 8th grade has been researching Presidents and First Ladies in their U.S. History class with Mrs. Carroll.  Last week, each student did a 7-10 minute oral presentation, dressed as their historical figure.  If you thought you saw Jackie O. darting across campus last Thursday, you weren't imagining things.
Catching Up With a Grad:  Annie Studdert, '08
Studdert

Presentation grad Annie Studdert, 08, is a Redwood Empire soccer standout and received all-Sonoma County League honors as a freshman, junior and senior (first-team recognition) at Sonoma Valley High School.  Last month, Annie signed an athletic scholarship to play Division 1 soccer in the dominant Atlantic Coast Conference for Clemson University in South Carolina.

Besides playing for the Sonoma High Varsity basketball team, Annie is also a top player for her Division-1 traveling soccer squad San Juan Spirit (Sacramento). A multi-sport athlete, she is also  the top scorer on the Sonoma High Varsity basketball team.  She is a four-year Varsity starter for both their basketball and soccer teams.  Annie is a CIF scholar-athlete and received All-Empire honors for basketball. Now that she has her college decision made, she is  also looking forward to  swimming this spring for the Sonoma Dragons.

A little Studdert is still at Presentation, her little sister Caroline is in 2nd grade.  If you see Annie around school, give her a big cheer of congratulations!

SCHOOL NEWS:

Tuition Assistance Deadline:

The priority tuition assistance deadline is past but if you expect to need aid, you may still apply (see school web site for hot link).  For questions, or to receive application information, please contact:

·  Larry Christensen, Director of Finance, ext. 207, or email him at lchristensen@presentationschool.com, or

·  Beth Fox, Director of Admissions and Development, ext. 201, or email  her atbfox@presentationschool.com.

Safety First:

In the coming weeks, you will notice several changes that are designed to make our campus safer.  During the hours of 9:00 - 2:30, the side parking lot will be coned off.  We are asking parents and visitors to park in the front lot and then report to the Office.   As Presentation is situated on a large parcel, it is important for faculty and staff to know who is on campus.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Winter worries:

It's that time of the year!  Be on the look out for those tiny creatures that make our students scratch their heads.  If the little critters are found, please contact Mrs. Wallace for information on next steps.

Uniforms:
As the children are growing and you are purchasing new uniform items, please remember that skorts, pants and outwear are to be purchased from either Classic Design or Land's End Presentation list.  Any questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.  You will find the uniform policy in the Family Handbook.

Lunch:  Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help with lunches.  We still need After Care volunteers.  Please contact Mrs. Wallace or Ms. Amy if you are interested and would like more information regarding responsibilities.

Box Tops:  We are still collecting Box Tops!  Please bring them to the school office before March 1.  Thank you!
