Presentation Welcomes Grandparent's and Special Friends on Tuesday
This Tuesday is Grandparent's and Special Friends Day. It is also a Minimum Day and the students are expect to wear full dress uniform.
As one of our students so eloquently put it: "Grandparents are special because of their patience and leniency. For some reason, no matter how hard we try, kids can not make their grandparents do anything but smile or laugh."
On this day, our guests are greeted with coffee and goodies, followed by a short prayer service. Student Ambassadors conduct tours of the school and all classes will stage performances (including the Spirit Squad). If you haven't sent in your reservation for your guest yet, please do so first thing Monday morning in the office.

Parent and Teachers Gain Great Insights from Neuroscience Educator Pat Wolfe

Presentation faculty and staff report an excellent professional development day with Dr. Pat Wolfe, increasing their understanding of the intricacies of the brain and learning, with an emphasis on creating a "Brain Compatible Classroom". Kindergarten teacher Moya Jones Neely says that the teachers left the workshop with an "arsenal" of specific strategies to enhance their curriculum and aid the learning process for all children.
The 30-40 parents in attendance at Dr. Wolfe's evening presentation to parents raved about the insights gained. Says parent Lorin Loughlin, "Dr. Wolfe's presentation covering current research on the brain and how children learn was interesting and informative. I particularly appreciated the five major findings that would impact classroom instruction; this research can be used to tailor our teaching methods to improve all aspects of the learning process."
The Speaker Series also achieved the desired goal of bringing the community at large onto our beautiful campus. More than half the parents in attendance were non-school families.
Save the Date: February 27 the renowned Dr. Michael Thompson is coming to speak at Presentation School!
