Greetings!

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Faculty and Staff welcome you to the 2011-12 school year! This year promises to be filled with exciting activities and events, and most of all, a year of exceptional learning experiences for our students.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our outstanding faculty and send our best wishes to Amy Delao who has taken a position in Santa Rosa City Schools.

Our faculty is dedicated to providing the highest quality education for our students and look forward to working with you this year.

Joel Kuschner joins our staff as the 4th Grade co-teacher. The son of educators and a Sonoma Valley native, Joel enjoys the outdoors, gardening, and sports. He has traveled around the world before settling into his graduate work at Sonoma State University. Joel is very excited about being part of The Presentation School community. Please welcome Mr. Kuschner into our Presentation family.

 

 

Here is the most current information concerning the opening of school:

 

August 25th is the first day of school. Students should gather in the courtyard to meet their teachers who will escort them to the classrooms. Students will be in class from 8:20 - 10:30. During this time, parents are invited to attend the first Parent Meeting of the year. A "Coffee and Conversation" reception will be held. Administration will present an overview of the school year. The Parent Association Executive Committee will discuss their initiatives for 2011-12. Parents will have the opportunity to sign up for many volunteer jobs. The Family Handbook will be distributed and an "outgrown" uniform sale will be held.

 

At 10:30, parents are invited to visit the classroom of their youngest child to meet the teacher and hear a brief overview of the school year. Students in grades K-3 will be in the Library during this time, and students in grades 4-8 will be on the playground. All students are dismissed at 11:00.

 

August 26th is a minimum day, 9:00 - 12:30, for all students. Please remember to pack a snack.

 

August 28th is the Back to School Picnic! Hosted by grades 4 and 5, the picnic will be held on campus from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Flyers and further information will be sent shortly.

 

August 29 - September 2 is the first full week of school. Kindergarten students are dismissed at 12:30; students in grades 1-8 are dismissed at 3:15. No hot lunches and no after care this week.

 

Beginning September 6 - Kindergarten extended day, hot lunch program and after care begins.

  

School Announcements:

 

Outgrown Uniform Sale will be held Wednesday, August 17 from 9:00 - 1:00 p.m.

 

Water bottles: This year we will not be using plastic water bottles on campus. We have ordered "Presentation Water Bottles" which will be on sale the first day of school.

7th and 8th grade students must have proof of immunization for Tdap in order to begin school.
