Greetings!

At the United Way of Lunenburg County we invested locally raised donor funds in the direct delivery of programs and services. The 2011 Allocations process is now complete.

Thanks to the generosity of our many local donors 21 programs have already been approved for funding. This represents a $110,002.46 investment in Lunenburg County kids, youth, families, seniors and communities.

Since our inception in 2003 we have now invested over $750,000 in 100 Lunenburg County based community groups and organizations.

Sport Equipment Swap

If you're like most families today, you have a garage or a basement filled with idle sports and recreational equipment. While this equipment won't help you anymore, it can help others realize their own sport or recreational dreams.

In preparation for the upcoming third annual South Shore Youth Activity Day donations of gently used sports and recreational equipment are being accepted for a sporting goods and equipment swap. It is here that growing children and youth can pick up gently used equipment that they or their families may not be able to afford.

As winter sports wind down and the summer sports start to kick into high gear take a serious look at your sports equipment situation and donate the unused and outgrown items to a great community cause.

South Shore Youth Activity Day, in partnership with Premiere Self Storage located on Logan Road (across from Michelin) is accepting cleaned and gently used sports equipment that can be dropped off Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. Here, the equipment will be stored until this year's South Shore Youth Activity Day event scheduled for Saturday August 27 at the Bridgewater Elementary and Jr/Sr High School.
