Hello Community Member,

On behalf of our locally based volunteer Allocations Committee, the United Way of Lunenburg County is pleased to present our 2010 funded programs. We are sure that these programs will make a meaningful and measurable difference in the lives of people right here in Lunenburg County.

Of course we couldn't fund these programs without the support of the local business community and their employees. Together we are making positive things happen right here in Lunenburg County.

Sincerely,
Nancy Allin - Director Supply Chain, High Liner Foods

Why I Support the United Way of Lunenburg County

I support the United Way of Lunenburg County because I have learned first hand through personal involvement with the organization some of the needs of our communities and families. The support delivered from the contributions by our citizens to the United Way of Lunenburg County make such a difference in so many lives. Everyone can benefit through strengthening our community organizations, providing transportation and services, promoting sport and recreation, keeping children safe just to name a few.

My support is a small part, combined with the help of so many others to acheive great things. I see it in the places I visit, I hear from the places I visitI hear it from people who express thanks. Nothing compares to the great feeling of helping someone, sometimes in what may seem like a very small thing. I see more opportunities ahead and a bright future.

Here's why

At work there are lots of stories shared by staff during break times, I had one staff member talking about how much her daughter enjoyed the Buster the Bus School Bus Safety Program at school.  A second staff member told a story about her niece participating in the Baby Think it Over Program.  When I approached the staff with the opportunity to donate to the United Way through a payroll deduction program, the staff all jumped on board because of the positive things they had seen in our community thanks to the United Way funded programs.
