Are you making the most of your workplace Casual Days?
Workplace casual day's can be a fun, team building exercise that has the possibility of not only building team or company spirit but can also be a great way to raise money for your community.

If your your business is now or is considering an employee casual day, then why not turn that "denim into dollars" and ask your employees to contribute a Loonie or Toonie for the freedom to work the day in casual comfort attire. Your employees will appreciate the opportunity to dress down and your community will reap the rewards.
The United Way of Lunenburg County raises money in the local community and then invests that money into vetted organizations and projects that will make a meaningful and measurable difference in the lives of Lunenburg County residents.
Or call our Coordinator Michael Graves at 530-3072 for further information. |
United Way Funding helps
Chester Community Wheels purchase a new bus
Transportation is not a luxury; it is vital to the physical, social and economic wellbeing of every citizen. Citizens who due to poor health, old age, physical impediment, economic circumstances or simply because they are not old enough to drive are unable to access much needed local services. Personal independence empowers people to take control of their lives, socialize and contribute to their community. "Community Wheels" is a community-based transportation service that offers rides to residents of the Municipality of Chester. The service offers twice weekly service within the Municipality of Chester and monthly trips to hospitals in Bridgewater, Halifax and Kentville. The service is also used to bring groups on outings or to attend special events.
Marjorie Charing of New Ross can't wait to get on the bus.
 | Marjorie M. of Charing Cross Manor, New Ross writes " I would like to thank the people who run Community Wheels for providing us with a bus that will take us out to Chester on Thursdays, to see a doctor if we have to, and to be able to go to the drug store and grocery shop" The United Way of Lunenburg County, using donor dollars, helped Chester Community Wheels purchase a new, more fuel-efficient bus that will help provide continued and additional benefits to Municipality of Chester residents like Marjorie of New Ross and many others.
