Tip 1  Christian Easter Activity

Reading, reciting and poetry are combined with this precious prayer about Jesus that includes jelly bean prompts to help children learn more about our Savior and the true meaning of Easter.

Tip 2  "15 Red Hot Minutes"

Do you have 15 minutes a day to assure your Preschooler or Kindergartener reading success?  Then check out "15 Red Hot Minutes"!  This  book covers everything needed to teach the necessary skills; including durable and colorful alphabet, vowel and first word reading cards.

15 Red Hot Minutes

Anyone can become a teacher with this simply written book!  At the end of Kindergarten, after applying these tools, 90% of children read at the end of the year and the majority of students were reading 1-2 years above their grade level! You can find this informative book, "15 Red Hot Minutes", written by Pat Swanson and Donnell Collins  at www.amazon.com

Tip 3   Teacher of the Year

I was so pleased when my husband carefully cut out an article in the newspaper and placed it on my computer the other day!  It is a great piece for my readers to see how Erin Lenz, "Idaho Teacher of the Year",  so eloquently detailed the importance of early reading skills.

READING QUOTE

"No player in the NBA was born wanting to play basketball. The desire to play ball or to read must be planted. The last 25 years of research show that reading aloud to a child is the oldest, cheapest and most successful method of instilling that desire."

KUDOS TO KINDNESS

Time for Kind

Only 9 years of age, Aria Novak was spurred to start a "Day of Kindness" at her school, after being the victim of bullying.  She broached the idea to her principal, who fully agreed and all classes participated.

In one class, kids apologized to someone they'd been mean to.  In another class, kids broke out of their cliques, ate lunch and played at recess with kids they normally didn't talk to.  In Aria's class, students filled blank pages with compliments about one another.

Aria's "Time for Kind Day" was such a success, the schoolboard voted to make it an annual event in all 17 schools in the district.
