Tip 1  Easter Jelly Bean Bingo

Print Easter Bingo word cards kids will enjoy, by clicking www.teach-nology.com/worksheets/easter/ .  Jelly beans used as markers, make for a "tasty" prize for winners!  A healthier option is mini carrots. They're the perfect size!

In the same site, Easter Reading Activities with alphabetization, picture sentences, word scramble, word search, coloring pages and stationery, are also found.  Christian Easter printables are available at http://www.apples4theteacher.com/holidays/easter-religious/printables/      Have a Glorious Easter!

Tip 2     Word Tic Tac Toe

Just nine words can change Tic Tac Toe into a reading game!  With a little thought, you can specify the area of reading that needs work.  Letters, vocabulary or Spanish are a few ideas.  I used contractions, compound words and blends, below.  Before you mark an X or O, "read" your word and say it in a sentence.  The person who  successfully reads their words and lines up their marks first, is the winner!

As a teacher, I had these printed into tablets for different chapter review.  As a parent, I rarely left my house without a small blank tablet in my purse for some tic tac toe learning fun at restaurants.  It helped the time fly, while waiting for food.  Should I forget my tablet . . . well, there were always the napkins!

Tip 3   Free Leap Frog Books

Learning to read is a "smile-fest" with interactive talking books by Leapfrog!  This prize worth $89, goes to the person who emails the most addresses to me at carla@kidzreadingtips.com , by April 30!  It's easy - just think of friends, teachers and grandparents, in your life, who help children with reading and could use some ideas from my  monthly newsletter!

"Toy Story 3" and "The Little Engine That Could" come to life, as the magic "Tag" pen reads aloud the words in each timeless story.  Scan the pen under the words and listen, as the story is read to you!  Great practice and the "Storage Case" holds 6 books!  What a prize!

Contest Rules

Email friends first & last name, email address & town they live  in to: carla@kidzreadingtips.com by April 30.

Best to do it now...while it's still on your mind :)

Even if you have just a few contacts, I appreciate your help in getting the word out for "Kidz Reading Tips".  Winner will be contacted by email and announce in May's issue.

On your mark, get set, LEAP!!!
