Newsletters & Magazines

This month the emphasis is again on Newsletters because we are finding that more and more are so badly written and presented that it would be a joke if it wasn't so serious!

Grammar and spelling are carelessly thrown to the four winds. It's the equivalent of Harrods asking their janitor to dress the shop windows! That simply wouldn't happen so why do most companies leave their shop window (e.g. newsletter) to someone who is unqualified and inexperienced?

Writing a newsletter is a form of journalism, it's the written word that explains who you are and what you do. It also provides the reader with an insight into what kind of people you are. Are you diligent and take care of the detail? Are you professional? Do you have ethics? All these things are transmitted by the way you write and present your newsletter.

The old adage that says 'first impressions count' applies just as strongly to your newsletter as it does to your clothes. Your newsletter may be the first point of contact with a new client or customer so it's important to get it right.

If you think you need help with your newsletter, get in touch with us today!
All systems GO!
Greetings!

I can't believe it's the end of February already. A lot has happened  since I jumped off the plane from Berlin on the 25th January having attended the INSOL Europe editorial meeting. It was only one day so no sight-seeing - and it was minus 10º too!

The office was in top gear, devising and implementing the first Beeston Business Improvement District campaign to rally the town's business people to attend a meeting on the 3rd of February in the Town Hall.

We were impressed with our own success when 60 businesses squashed into the meeting room. We were even more pleased to hear that our meeting had a higher turnout than the Nottingham City BID meeting! It proves that a well constructed PR and Marketing strategy really does work and that our new team is dynamic and working well.

New addition to PNDesign

I have been told off by one of our clients (Mandie at Enterprise Inns plc - hope you're reading!), for not being clearer about our new service offering after teaming up with Vivienne Tregidga - a PR and Marketing specialist.

When I met with Matthew Robinson (BID Manager for Beeston) I realised that in addition to design and print, the BID initiative was going to need strong PR and Marketing. I called Viv and asked if she would like to join PNDesign in this venture late last year.

VRemember Campaigniv had just delivered a Strategic Communications Strategy for The Safer Nottinghamshire Board in the County Council. This included devising three campaigns and rolling out the first. Her campaign 'Remember! Lock up when you go out' succeeded in reducing opportunistic burglary by 66% in the north of Nottinghamshire where there is a particular crime hot spot. These results have won Viv much acclaim in the County Council and she certainly is a valuable addition to our team.
Competition News

You may recall that for our Christmas card last year we did something completely different - have you seen the video yet? Its on YouTube - just search for 'pndesign' and have a laugh on us!

For our Christmas newsletter we ran a simple competition to encourage people to read the newsletter and watch the video. It certainly worked, with a 400% increase in hits to our website and several hundred viewings of the video.

Steve Greggs of Project MCSteve Gregg, Sales and Marketing Manager of Project MC was the lucky winner of the competition so Viv and I popped up to Mansfield to meet him. Steve said: "How delightful to be presented with a bottle of Moet champagne, thank you. I look forward to seeing the next edition of your newsletter, so please put me on the circulation list." We're happy to oblige!
NEBA WebsiteNEBA Website
Live at Last!

The new website for NEBA (Nottinghamshire Education Business Alliance) has finally gone live after several months in production. This is the largest site that PNDesign have managed to-date, and we are very pleased with the outcome - as is the client.

Louise Hawkings, NEBA's Marketing & Communications Officer said: "PNDesign provided us with an excellent design service during our website re-development, creating a fresh and dynamic look for the site, reflective of the NEBA brand. I would have no hesitation in recommending PNDesign to anyone looking for a professional marketing service."

PNDesign successfully tendered for the design of the new site after pitching against 4 other agencies. Teaming up with another local agency, WebFuel, provided the winning combination of design, brand management and software implementation which has given the site a completely new look and feel, complete with a CMS based news feed, calendar and many other resources for users to access.
