 Christmas

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:14-17

Dear Friends and Partners in Christ,

2011 has come and gone, leaving in its wake  hearts filled with gratitude and great memories.  Tim and I marvel at God's goodness and grace  over the past twelve months. He continues to unite  us as one in life, love, and ministry through  challenges and laughter. We thank the Lord for the  many new ways he has led us to minister the  fullness of the Gospel to  those who need freedom  from physical and spiritual bondage. The message  of victory in Christ is for today and for eternity!

Throughout the year, we have enjoyed the  privilege of teaching together a Sunday School  class for adults with cognitive disabilities. We  focus on assisting our students with learning the  Word of God, worshipping the Lord, and honoring  Jesus in their daily lives. Tim and I also meet with couples for spiritual and relational encouragement.

Tim has become quite the cook! Sharing dinner with others prepares the way to share the Bread of life. I continue to get together with several women each week individually for ministry of prayer, Biblical edification, and freedom. I love opening our home as a safe, welcoming place for these precious women to experience the love of God.

For twelve weeks, I co-led a Bible study in Canton at a pregnancy center. It was amazing to walk alongside of about 20 women as we journeyed through God's Word. Most of them have been affected by devastating traumas of abortion and other related issues. Praise God for working in so many hearts and lives!

In July I began writing Stepping It Up, a bi-weekly online Bible study sent out by Through the Roof Ministries. It's a challenging commitment and a lot of fun. About 200 people receive it regularly. I pray it builds people's faith and appetite for God's truth. The plan is to continue it for a year, and then compile the articles into a book. Speaking of books, my fourth one has been completed this year and awaits the printing process. It's a book focused on prayer, laughter, and life's ups and downs. It is entitled Confessions of an Off-balanced Prayer Warrior.

Tim and Shanda led team worship and prayer each morning and night

 in Honduras.

Wrapping up 2011, Tim and I spent nine days in Honduras with TTRM in November. We loved investing time with individuals, couples, and groups, engaging them on a deeper level through prayer and conversations. Tim also served as wheelchair mechanic and worship leader while I led daily Bible studies and had several speaking engagements.

Thank you from our hearts to yours for your steadfast support, persistent prayers, and faithful friendship! You give much more than you know. God uses each of you to add  rich, beautiful texture to the fabric of our life and ministry. We love you and appreciate you more than words can express. Tidings of comfort and joy be upon you and yours.

With much love,

Tim  & Shanda Gobeli
