Summer 2011
Dear Friends,

Thank you for your prayers and support for our shipment to Honduras! After six months it has arrived in port and has been released. Armor of Hope was able to pick up an autoclave and several items needed for minor surgery at the clinic in El Sauce. The remaining mobility items are now in Santa Rosa and will be shipped to Jesus de Otoro soon!!! The next shipment is scheduled to leave Orville, Ohio this month!  We are so grateful to CAMO and Wheels of Hope our partners in ministry in Honduras for assisting us to make the gift of mobility and hope a reality for our friends in need in Central America.

Local NE Ohio Outreach Update:

Each month in NE Ohio we look forward to several

ministry events that fill our heart with new found joy! A Place to Belong community group meets at The Chapel in Akron twice a month for those with physical disabilities. This group has been meeting for over ten years and has grown spiritually into a strong core of powerful disciples of Christ. New members are welcome.
A support group
gathers once a month at Canal Pointe rehab center. Residents enjoy a time  of sharing favorite scriptures, hymns, and prayer needs. There are usually a few regulars and always new people who attend.

Every Sunday we lead several Assisted Learning classes at The Chapel in Akron and Green. We have separate classes for children, teens and adults. These classes are for those with cognitive disabilities who might require additional assistance learning Bible fellowship lessons. Faithful volunteers teach each week. We are so grateful for their servant heart. We are in need of help in each class: Children 9:00 class in Green, Teen and Adult 10:30 class in Green, Children, Teen and an Adult class in Akron all at 10:30. Please email Margaret Matasic if you are interested in learning more!

In early summer we were blessed to partner with The Chapel and Project Homeless Connect. Over 800 people came and received, food, clothing, services including dentist, vaccinations, hair cuts... We were able to provide wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, Jesus is the light flashlights, stressballs and most important prayer. We are grateful for this opportunity!

A monthly activity that is always highly anticipated is our Fellowship of Friends outings. Many individuals with various disabilities join together to celebrate the joy of friendship and life as we explore different fun spots. Bowling is a favorite coming up in August and in October we will go on a train ride. Other areas we have visited include: the zoo, the fossil  and science museum, dining out, shopping, and more...

Creation Museum
Fellowship of Friends Creation Museum.

We always need volunteers to come along with us to provide assistance with simple tasks such as walking with individuals, engaging in conversation, assisting with a meal, pushing a wheelchair, etc. It is thoroughly enjoyable and a way to purposefully build relationships for the sake of the gospel.

Thank you for praying for these local NE Ohio and international needs!

Sincerely,

Paul and Margaret Matasic

GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD!

With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD: "He is good; his love endures forever." And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.
