Greetings!

Spring Break is almost here, and it's a great opportunitiy for high school students to tour college campuses. The weather is nice and class is in session, so you can get a good feel for the atmosphere of each campus. Campus visits are the BEST way to learn about a college!

Davidson Center logoTry to see as many different kinds of schools as you can to best decide which colleges will be good matches for you. Don't wait until your junior year - it's never too early to start!

To register for a campus tour, you can go to the college website and look for "Campus Visit" under the Admissions Office. Most colleges have an online form to fill out in order to sign up for the tour. Make sure to research as much as you can about a school before your visit.

Then use the time on the visit to ask questions that go beyond the information provided in books.

Also, make sure you do more than just the official tour. Eat in the dining hall. Shop at the bookstore. Spend time in the student union or library. Read the student newspaper. Get a feel for the campus. Could you picture yourself living here? Near the end of your visit, take notes on the information you are getting and your impressions.

College Board provides a great resource to make sure you get the most out of your visit. Check it out at www.collegeboard.com

Get out there!
