Repair
Process for Damaged
Curb
and Gutter or Sidewalk
Street
and Bridge Division
Street and Bridge (S&B) receives
reports from citizens about damaged curb and gutter or sidewalks via the City
of Austin 311 System. Each call to 311 generates a Citizen Service Request
(CSR) and initiates the following sequence of events:
1.
311 Call Center
receives a request for curb and gutter or sidewalk repair:
311
Call Center sends the CSR to S&B by email.
A District
Superintendent determines if temporary asphalt repairs are needed.
The
CSR is updated with comments from the District Superintendent.
2.
Colly Kreidler
downloads the 311 CSR's into a Master Repair List:
Requests
are sorted by:
Zip
Code
Mapsco® Grid
Street
Name
3.
The Master Repair
List is emailed to the S&B Concrete Repair Superintendent.
4.
The Concrete
Repair Superintendent uses the Master Repair List to:
Schedule
repairs based on the volume of CSR's for that zip code.
Anticipate
any necessary limit to the number of repairs based on available funds.
Field-check
each CSR to determine how much sidewalk needs to be repaired.
The
limit of each repair is indicated with red or orange spray paint.
Permanent
concrete repairs are made within 2 weeks of this.
5.
The Concrete
Repair Superintendent makes contact with One-Call.
6.
As repairs are
completed Colly Kreidler updates the Master Repair List.
7.
Colly Kreidler refers
to the Master Repair List when answering citizen calls regarding the extent of
repairs and the estimated date of repair for an address.
