GRAB YOUR FLASHLIGHT FOR A NIGHT TRAIL RUN
Check out 4 miles of trails through Explore Park during the Into the Darkness 4 Mile Night Trail Run as part of GO FEST.
The race, happening Oct. 20 at 7 p.m., is one of the more unique events for runners in the Roanoke Valley. The course consists of 3 miles of twisty rolling single track and 1 mile of grass and asphalt roads. Trails will be marked with reflective arrows, glow sticks, and the occasional surprise (but nothing scary, this is a family event).
Race participants need to bring a light source such as a headlamp or flashlight or both and register in advance. Prizes will be awarded for the top finishers and the top three in each age group will earn a medal.
