PETE'S PICKS

"All sorts of epic". That's how Roanoke Times reporter Mark Taylor summed up this past weekend, and I couldn't have said it better myself.
I am still recovering from all the "fun" and will be taking a well needed break. As a result you'll be receiving a scaled-down version of the Get Outside Weekend Update this and next week.
Here are a few things worth checking out:
- I highly recommend the National Paddling Film Festival taking place this Friday night at Hollins University.
- In the market for a canoe? Then check out the Mohawk Boat Demo (11am-2pm) this Saturday at Carvins Cove.
- Also on Saturday is the Earth Day Roanoke festival in the Grandin area. Check out the cool stuff taking place in/around Roanoke, grab some ice cream at Pops, and have a great day.
Get Outside!
