Solution Matrix to Relocate Headquarters & Manufacturing Solution Matrix, Inc., a leader in cold-therapy products for the health care industry, will relocate its headquarters and manufacturing operations from Pennsylvania to Franklin County. The company expects to be in operation by November 2011 and create 80 jobs within three years.
"The business climate and market access inherent here will help our company manage its growing market share," said Keith Marshall, president of Solution Matrix. "Franklin County also offers an experienced and motivated work force."
Privately held Solution Matrix designs, manufactures and sells cold-therapy products used by hospitals, physical therapists and other health care providers post-surgery for joint replacement or rehabilitation from acute sports and other orthopedic injuries. The company will build a 25,000-square-foot facility in the Franklin County Commerce Center.
"We are delighted to welcome a medical equipment manufacturer to the region," said Beth Doughty, executive director of the Roanoke Regional Partnership. "It strengthens this growing cluster."

Wachovia/Wells Fargo Announces 110 Jobs at Roanoke County Call Center Wachovia announced it intends to hire 110 new customer service representatives for its Roanoke Contact Center. New to the operation on Plantation Road in Roanoke County will be what the bank calls a "Premier Queue," whose employees will take phone calls exclusively from Wells Fargo's "high value customers." The Roanoke center also takes regular customer service calls from Wachovia and Wells Fargo customers across the United States. All of the new jobs are full-time positions with benefits and are for all shifts at the 24x7 call center.

The Roanoke Regional Partnership has been recognized by Mashable.com as one of the five best examples of cities and regions using social media to reverse economic downturn. According to its website, Mashable has more than 30 million monthly page views and is the most prolific news site reporting breaking web news, providing analysis of trends, reviewing new websites and services, and offering social media resources and guides.
Mashable.com recognized the Partnership's website, Roanokeoutside.com along with its four Facebook accounts and four Twitter pages under the titles of Roanoke Region, Roanoke Outside, Get2KnowNoke, and BlueRidgeMarathon.
"Economic development groups are increasingly turning to social media as a means of communicating both within their communities and externally with key audiences," said Ryan Shell, director of digital and social media for Development Counsellors International of New York City. Roanoke Regional Partnership Finalist for Torchbearer Award
The Roanoke Regional Partnership was named a finalist in the Virginia Chamber of Commerce's Torchbearer Awards. The prestigious awards honor individuals and organizations whose innovative ideas, products, and/or services have propelled Virginia's progress and prosperity. The Partnership was recognized for the strategic diversification of its program of work including outdoor brand building, Blue Ridge Marathon, image building, and modern business development.
