But every now and then it's time make sure you're doing your part to ensure we keep our outdoors clean and pristine.
Please mark your calendar now for October 2nd.
Volunteers from all over the Roanoke Region will be out in force picking up trash, tires, and more from our creeks, streams, and rivers as part of the Clean Valley Council 10th Annual Fall Waterways Cleanup Day (more than 600 volunteers collected 23 tons of trash and 138 tires last year).
- Come alone, or better yet, get your civic group or business involved
- Clean your favorite waterway on your own, or join the large gathering at Wasena Park
- The organized event runs from 8:30 to 11:30am (no timeframe if you are doing your own waterway)
- Picnic celebration afterward at Wasena Park (11:30am - 2:00pm)
- Supplies provided by Clean Valley Council
- Call 540.345.5523 with any questions
In order to measure the success of the event (and the amount of trash collected), the Clean Valley Council kindly asks that you register for the event by September 17.
Let's work together to keep our waterways clean, safe, and beautiful.
