Your Place for Well Being ... January 2012
|
CUP is thriving today because there is an offering and participation from many individuals. Thank you to all of you who have practiced with us, engaged in our services, and have supported us; family, friends, clients, practitioners, and community, past and present. In collaboration with you, CUP's intentions manifest. We thank you with our deepest heartfelt gratitude and warmth for your contribution to our potential.
2011 has been a year of transitions and possibilities for CUP. You may have noticed in our previous newsletters, there has been much happening in our neck of the woods. As a consortium of practitioners, we have created our 2012 intentions and are looking forward to sharing them with you and seeing them blossom.
CUP welcomes you into the new year and wishes you an amazing 2012 filled with peace, joy, love, and Unlimited Possibilities!

Yoga Guide & Reiki Practitioner
Jane Donelly, RYT
Create an intention with a deeper meaning - a Sankalpa!
Setting an intention can be a great recipe for success heading into the New Year. Add a few drops of yoga, breathing techniques and a dash of meditation and you've got something of substance that may sustain you all year!
"San" refers to a connection with the highest truth, "kalpa" means vow. Sankalpa, then, is a vow and commitment made to support our highest truth honoring the deeper meaning of our life. We must find a way to remove ourselves from the everyday chatter that goes on in the mind. The breath can be used as a tool to help calm the body and the mind to help us listen to our true nature and guide our choices.
A yoga class can help support us and remind us to listen to our breath. We use yoga and meditation to tap into that well-spring of knowing that is always constant, always there, waiting to be heard. We learn to tune into our breath, simply inviting it in, rather than breathe with any force or preconceived notion of what it should sound like. We let the breath guide us.
On the yoga mat we might slowly begin to understand where and what we may be holding onto, what we can let go of, where we can soften and where we need to be strong. In silence, the message arrives - a word, or a phrase that supports us. We learn to open ourselves up to new ideas and sensations that support a deeper meaning of life, one that reminds us of our true nature and guides our choices based on the insight we find on the yoga mat.
Check out a full schedule of yoga at www.hagoyoga.com and look for new ways to support your New Year's intention through Yoga and Self Massage, Restorative Yoga, a Yoga and Chakra Balancing Course or simply committing to a month of yoga to take care of yourself in a new way! Enhance your Sankalpa by opening energy in the body with a Reiki session, or Reiki and Massage!
Watch for new programs this year at CUP with the combined wisdom of CUP practitioners offering collaborative workshops and courses to support you!!
