Your Place for Well Being ... December 2011
Amy

There are many traditions being celebrated this time of year, one of which is Christmas. As I was preparing for the newsletter and contemplating the gifts of the season, I discovered the following quote and found it to be a wonderful invitation.

If, as Herod, we fill our lives with things, and again with things; if we consider ourselves so unimportant that we must fill every moment of our lives with action, when will we have the time to make the long, slow journey across the desert as did the Magi? Or sit and watch the stars as did the shepherds? Or brood over the coming of the child as did Mary? For each on of us, there is a desert to travel. A star to discover. And a being within ourselves to bring to life.

~ Author Unknown

As you travel your journey, discover your star, and celebrate this time of year in your own unique way, CUP sends you warm wish of peaces, love and joy.

Happy Holidays to you and yours.

During this time of year, we speak of gifts.  To some, they come in bright, red, glittery packages under a Christmas tree; once opened, there might be appreciation and excitement to share and receive.  In considering other types of gifts, I recently made a list: gifts of awareness, companionship, hope, self expression, love, goodness, relaxation, self care, and feeling joyous.  What gifts these can be to those who are open to them!  It is not opening a gift box but rather an opening from within.  Being open to these gifts might require intentionally noticing beauty and feeling spirit in the present moment.  For me, another gift is motherhood.  It's the gift of watching my young daughter smile with her eyes as they seem to radiate spirit that soaks goodness into my soul.  This season, I encourage you to wonder about, pay attention to, and intentionally be open to your gifts.  CUP is a gift.  It offers hope, goodness, peace, and a safe place to find your authentic self.

I look forward to seeing you soon at CUP.
