Something to consider... "We all have a social mask, right? We put it on, we go out, put our best foot forward, our best image. But behind that social mask is a personal truth, what we really, really believe about who we are and what we're capable of."
~P McGraw It won't be long and our streets will be adorned with little ghosts, goblins, witches, and scary monsters. It is the time of year when many a child, young and old, participate in the Halloween tradition of dressing up in costumes and masks...So much fun!
The social masks mentioned above, however, are not always fun. In fact, these masks can be extremely painful. Perhaps we have worn a mask for so long that we believe it is who we are; yet, on some level, there is a whisper of discontent. A quiet, subtle knowing that the mask does not accurately portray our true self. This knowing may present as an uneasiness, a worry that our special someone would not like us if they really knew us. Or maybe it is more obvious, like hiding behind technology, alcohol, work, being busy, etc...only connecting from a distance because face to face, emotionally intimate relationships are hard, painful or frightening.
So many times clients have asked..."will I like what I discover when I uncover my authentic self?" The answer is a resounding YES! Whenever we are congruent with who we authentically are, with no masks, there is an ease of being and a beautiful warm light beams to the outside world.
Here at CUP we have several offerings to assist you in exploring what is beneath your mask. In addition to the practitioners who excel at guiding their clients to connect with his or her beautiful authentic self, we have two special workshops coming soon (see below for more details). Additionally, if you are wishing to express your inner beauty externally and to have it be reflected in your home, be sure to investigate the information below for CUP's newest professional affiliate, Lora Amara.
Enjoy the beautiful fall days. I look forward to seeing you at CUP soon!
Warmly,
Amy L. West, Director
