Something to consider...
"Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning."
~Sandra Bullock

Life is filled with beginnings and endings... ending of summer, beginning of fall; ending of high school, beginning of college; ending of college, beginning of a career; ending of single-hood, beginning of partnership; ending of no children, beginning of parenthood, etc. So much happening in the middle. I often say to clients, life is lived in the dash...the space between when we are born and when we leave the earth.
As Sandra Bullock points out in her quote, endings are usually sad. As human beings, grief is often part of the process of transitioning from one thing to another, even when it is something we want. I remember when my son was moving from a crib to a "big boy bed", I felt joy-pain. Joy that he was developing and maturing and pain that my baby was growing up.
Sometimes the grief is so large or the transition is so scary that support is necessary. If you find yourself in need of extra support during an ending or a beginning, I invite you to connect with one of the practitioners here at CUP. The practitioners have a variety of offerings that support health, renewal and well-being as you live squarely in the middle of your dash.
Enjoy the remainder of your summer! I look forward to seeing you at CUP.
Warmly,
Amy L. West, Director
