Masterful dialogue techniques include step-by-step guidelines that identify and transform the emotional component of disease in the body, the related trauma, as well as the ancestral patterns that have sustained wounding within the immediate family and the family lineage.

TERRENCE REAL is the bestselling author of I Don't Want to Talk About It: Overcoming the Secret Legacy of Male Depression, How Can I Get Through to You?: Reconnecting Men and Women, and most recently The New Rules of Marriage: a Breakthrough Program for 21st Century Relationships.  He has been a practicing family therapist for more than twenty years and has lectured and given workshops across the country.

Terry's work, with its rigorous commonsense approach, speaks to both men and women. His ideas on men's issues and on couple's therapy have been celebrated in venues from the Today Show and 20/20, to Oprah and The New York Times.
We are honored to have him at CUP in late March to facilitate his Couples Experiential Workshop.

The Couples Experiential Workshop is an intensive, 3-day workshop for couples, taught exclusively by Terry Real.
Participants will work in a very small group with Mr. Real on their biggest relationship challenges. Drawing on 25+ years of helping couples at "marital death's door", Real will use the approach he created, Relational Life Therapy, to work deeply with each pair.   This workshop provides couples with more one on one attention from Terry while also maintaining the power of the group format.
This workshop has been designed to help couples begin the healing and recovery process for deep, intimate connection.   Space is limited to 7 couples.  To register, and for more information please visit www.terryreal.com

Date: March 25-27
Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Multi-purpose Room, lower level

Therapists are invited to observe this unique experience for a substantial discount, receive feedback and have lunch each day with Mr. Real.  Click here to visit the RLI website for more information.

April
Drumming Up Your Power Story, Through Rhythm and Body Intelligence, with Ken Porter, CST & Pat Hickey, MSW, ACSW

We all ken and pathave internal stories - mostly unconscious - that guide our choices in life.  Some of these narratives empower us to live a life of passion, purpose, and beauty, while others sabotage our fulfillment.  These self-defeating stories leave us wondering why we keep procrastinating, overeating, doubting ourselves, saying hurtful things... the list is endless.  And endlessly frustrating.  But these blocks can stay in place only if they remain unconscious.  Once we become conscious of them, we're no longer at their mercy.  We gain the power to choose.

Pat Hickey and Ken Porter combine their unique skill sets to bring participants powerful tools to understand and transform their limiting beliefs.

In addition to her private psychotherapy and consulting practice, Pat is a passionate drummer and percussion instructor.  She teaches people how to use the rhythmic power of drumming to deepen their level of consciousness and access their inner knowledge and wisdom.

Ken is a somatic therapist, who teaches people another route to this deep level of consciousness, the route of mindful body awareness.  Put these two approaches together, and you have a process that is not only highly effective, it's also a whole lot of fun!
