Rector's notes:
The 2012 Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 29 at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall.
Nominees for Vestry are:
Doug Beichley for a second three year term
Erik Elving for a second three year term
Ann Readey for a second three year term
Whitney Gee Hosty for a first three year term
Vanessa Thorsten for a partial term ending in January of 2014
Brief bios for each will be posted on Tuesday of next week. Other nominations may be submitted to the Sr. Warden or the rector . The Rector is interested in forming a 7-8 person lunch time serving team for the Kansas City Community Kitchen, a ministry of Episcopal Community Services, at their downtown location on the 4th Monday of each month. If you are interested in being on the Rector's Team, let me know (click on "Rector's Team" above to email). We have an older parishioner who no longer dirves who needs a ride to church. She is near 95th and Mission. If you are interested in occasionally offering a ride to a parishioner contact the rector (click link for email) or 816.931.2850.
I appreciate the many expressions of support and "mixed feelings" expressed by so many following my annoucement last Sunday. I too have complicated feelings about this. It is an interesting and complex process . If you have any questions or would like to know more about how I have arrived at this juncture in my ministry, this Sunday we will have a one-time Q&A during the adult forum on the topic of the Diocese of Pittsburgh Bishop search and election process. |
Heart's for Jim
On February 12 at 5 p.m., the ECW will sponsor a five course pre-Valentine's Day Wine and Hor D'oevre Tasting event remembering Jim McLure. This is a ticketed event with limited space. If you are interested in attending, contact Pat Rudy or the Parish to reserve your ticket. Your donation gift for the ticket (over $20) will be added to the Jim McClure Scholarship Fund for St. Paul's Episcopal Day School. Hillary McCoy will be our wine steward for the evening. Hillary received her sommelier training from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and studied in London and Napa Valley. Join the ECW for a fun evening and for a great cause!

We have several special days coming up, including a Youth Work Day for youth 16yrs & older, the Rector's Anniversary Day, a Women's Work Day for women of all ages, and our Dedication Day for everyone to celebrate the third House of Abraham.
Thank you to all who have helped out so far, and we look forward to seeing you out there in these last few weeks.
Contact Easom Bond or 816 769-3246 if you have any questions or want to sign up.
Volunteer Opportunity in our Food Ministries
We still need volunteers each Friday to transport backsnacks to the ForeignLanguage Acadmey (FLA). It is about a 60-90 minute commitment around 9 a.m. on Fridays. It does involve some labor and moderate lifting. A larger vehicle is helpful but not essential. You can volunteer for as many or as few Fridays as you are able.
Contact Dave Antrim if you are interested or need to know more. |

Coffee Hour Sign up sheet in the Entry Way Hall.
Hosting Coffee Hour is a fun and easy way to get to know other parishioners! The host brings the food and the church provides the drinks. An example of what a host might bring would be: two large pans of brownies (cut very small), maybe a bowl of fruit (oftentimes grapes cut into small clusters), and a bowl or two of pretzels or popcorn. If you have questions or wish to co-host with another member, please contact :
