It is with great joy that I announce the birth my sweet little boy, Milan "Milo" Tianshan Ackerman on October 26th, 2011. Milan was born peacefully at home. 

 

I am just drinking in the softness and sweetness of a new babe, a sensation that has surprised me in its renewed novelty, as Lila is just a couple of years older. Lila is proving to be a very affectionate and protective older sister. 

 

 

 

 

Milan, 11 weeks

 

Now nearing 3 months, Milan responds to us with smiles and coos and our love for him expands exponentially each day. No doubt my husband and I are a tired pair, but having a second child is much less stressful than a first--just much, much busier! It has been an interesting process of letting go - letting go of orderliness, previous routines and expectations-and accepting the sweet moments that our children present us with.
