Dear Last Well Supporter,
Here is the latest update from The Last Well (TLW). Thank you for your continued support.

No one could have predicted the way God would move late in 2011 and in the first quarter of 2012 at THE LAST WELL.  In our last newsletter, "momentum" was the word we used to describe the whirlwind of activity we were seeing as 2011 came to a close.  You may recall reading the following paragraph in December:

MOMENTUM.  Momentum is the word that best describes what TLW has experienced in the last six months of 2011 and what we have on our side moving into the New Year.  What was once a local ministry supported primarily through the passionate pursuits of young adults in Frontline, the young adult ministry of McLean Bible Church in Washington, D.C., is now an expanding, multi-state movement of people of all ages and walks of life moving toward one clear, compelling goal - provide clean water to the entire nation of Liberia and share Christ with those we serve.

Then, it was "momentum."  Based on the first quarter of 2012, we have a new word - BIG

We've had BIG donations, BIG partnerships, BIG improvements to our web site, and we've revised our expectations for the rest of 2012 - yep, they're BIGGER!

Please take some time to read the articles below relating to donations, partnerships, and our web site.  I think you'll be as excited as we are about what you're about to read!

Executive Director, THE LAST WELL

DONATIONS

2011 was our most productive year in terms of moneys raised.  Adding the general donations for 2011 to grants from our partner organizations we are excited to share that we exceeded the $150,000 goal we set for the year.  We also announced a four year, $1 MILLION per year goal, in an effort to raise the money needed to accomplish our mission of reaching the entire nation of Liberia with water and the Gospel by the end of this decade.  There were definitely a few skeptics.  I'm thrilled to report that we have raised $193,455.75 so far this year!  That's right...in the first quarter of 2012 we've raised 29% more than our best 12-month fiscal year to date!

The credit goes primarily to God's work through Lake Pointe Church just outside of Dallas, Texas.  The elders of the church prayerfully decided to give 100% of the general offering from the entire Easter weekend with the goal of providing clean water and the Gospel to 100,000 people in Egypt, Ghana, and Liberia.  The weekend offering totaled $411,000!  Only days after the offering was counted, Lake Pointe Church cut a check for $153,000 to THE LAST WELL with the charge to use this money to reach 50,000 Liberians!

God truly does more than we can think or imagine when we submit ourselves and our expectations to Him for His glory!  If you know of a church that would consider following Lake Pointe's lead in developing a partnership with THE LAST WELL, please contact us.  We believe God is already laying the groundwork for this to happen in many other churches around the nation and the world.

Also, in our last newsletter, we introduced everyone to "ONE BIRTHDAY: ONE WELL":

It's simple.  You decide to give up your birthday presents in 2012 in order to raise awareness and money for the mission of The Last Well.  I gave up my birthday this past August and asked friends, family and co-workers not to send me gift, but to give instead directly to The Last Well!  I sent 17 emails out and raised over $3000 for The Last Well!  Amazing!  Imagine if we all gave up our birthday in 2012 for the purpose of saving lives and altering the eternal destinies of men, women, and children in Liberia.

We just went public on our web site with our very own peer-to-peer fundraising page.  Anyone can now partner with THE LAST WELL by developing their own personal fundraising campaign.  We've already had a number of people give up their birthday presents this year and ask their friends and family instead to go to their personal campaign page and contribute to THE LAST WELL!

You can learn how to create your own fundraising campaign by clicking on the following link:

Listen to the instruction video and/or read the text below the video to get an idea of how you can partner with us to eradicate the water crisis in Liberia and share the Gospel with everyone we serve.
