Grand Tetons. The Grand Tetons fundraising expedition embarks this Wednesday, August 10th. Please pray for Tom Heffernan and the team as they climb the Tetons to raise awareness of The Last Well.

The Last Well Founder, Todd Phillips, and other members of The Last Well Team will be partnering with Samaritan's Purse and checking out the progress in the field and sharing the Gospel. Vision Statement

Our mission is to provide clean water to the entire nation of Liberia and preach the Message of Jesus Christ to those we serve.
We pursue this mission in order to:
1. Challenge other Christian organizations to ultimately create a movement to provide clean water and proclaim the Gospel in other countries around the world.
2. Empower the 20s and 30s generation in America to provide the majority of the finances for this movement, as well as engaging in evangelistic activity in Liberia.
3. Show the world that this generation of American Christians is serious about living out God's purpose for the church to be the agent of change for the world, regardless of the need.
We will raise awareness and funding through a variety of campaigns, providing funding to our partner organizations, who will provide clean water solutions and preach the Gospel in Liberia. A defining fundraising campaign is our Seven Summits Awareness Campaign. A founding team of ten mountaineers has committed to climbing the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents - the Seven Summits - to accomplish the goals above.

3 Weeks to Raise $9,500 for TLW
As Todd noted in our last newsletter, we are currently leveraging a fundraising web site called www.crowdrise.com. The Last Well is a certified 501(c)3, non-profit organization so we are able to raise moneys on this very well-structured site. Our current project is to raise $10,000 between now and Todd's birthday (August 26, 2011). The project is called "Two weeks of sacrifice." You can read all about it at:

You can donate directly on this page. You can become a "team member" and get the word out about the project, and you can create your own fundraising project on our page as well! To date we've raised $500 toward the project. It's an ambitious goal to grow this amount to $10,000 in the next 30 days, but we believe God can do it through our generation to spread the good news of the Gospel through clean water. This $10,000 could be used to build two wells in villages without clean water access or provide biosand filters to 1,000 homes.

DC Chapter News: Bring Your Passion to The Last Well
Is your ideal Saturday morning a long run? How about a long bike ride? Maybe you prefer to hit the golf course with a few of your friends. Whether you're a marathoner or you've never run a day in your life, we're hoping you'll take whatever you enjoy and use it as an avenue to raise awareness and raise money for The Last Well.
While The Last Well has primarily driven it's fundraising and awareness off of mountain climbing, it's time to broaden the impact by bringing The Last Well to things you already love to do. We're asking you to think creatively about how to raise $500 - $50,000 through their own events. We'll, of course, support anyway we can and get more volunteers involved.
Another great way to think about supporting The Last Well is by considering it as part of your monthly tithing. Please contact DC Chapter director, Zach Casper with ideas on starting a TLW fundraising event or questions on how to get more involved with TLW DC Chapter.
