Vision Statement | |
Our mission is to provide clean water to the entire nation of Liberia and preach the Message of Jesus Christ to those we serve.
We pursue this mission in order to:
1. Challenge other Christian organizations to ultimately create a movement to provide clean water and proclaim the Gospel in other countries around the world.
2. Empower the 20s and 30s generation in America to provide the majority of the finances for this movement, as well as engaging in evangelistic activity in Liberia.
3. Show the world that this generation of American Christians is serious about living out God's purpose for the church to be the agent of change for the world, regardless of the need.
We will raise awareness and funding through a variety of campaigns, providing funding to our partner organizations, who will provide clean water solutions and preach the Gospel in Liberia. A defining fundraising campaign is our Seven Summits Awareness Campaign. A founding team of ten mountaineers has committed to climbing the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents - the Seven Summits - to accomplish the goals above.

A Letter From the Founder
As we come to the end of 2010, we can celebrate God's incredible provision for water to be provided and the Gospel to be spread to tens of thousands of Liberians. Lives have been saved, people's eternal destinies have been forever altered, and we have all received an incredible sense of joy from being involved in God's work. I'd like to ask each one of you to consider an end of year donation to The Last Well. Small or large, all contributions will be matched dollar-for-dollar! We each have a unique opportunity to watch as God doubles our giving immediately through this matching grant from a private donor. The easiest way to give is to click on the "Donate" button on this newsletter or you can go to www.thelastwell.org. I want to wish you all a memorable and blessed Thanksgiving. Remember to thank God not only for His provisions in your life but also for using you to provide for others. Your servant for His sake, Todd Phillips TLW Founder |

The Last Well and Global Impact
This past August, I had the privilege of traveling on a short-term mission trip to Liberia with The Last Well. As the Associate Director of Global Impact, the ministry that mobilizes short-term mission trips for our church, the experience was invaluable to me both personally and for my staff position.
Traveling to Liberia and seeing with my own eyes the immeasurable depth of need there, made this concept of providing clean water to the entire country tangible. I realized just how critical the work of The Last Well is for the Liberians that are desperate for clean, safe water. And that by providing it, we are given a huge evangelistic opportunity to share Christ with them.
My passion and excitement for the ministry has only grown and intensified through this experience. I have seen that the mission to provide clean water and the gospel to the entire country of Liberia over the next several years is actually possible. It's not just another ongoing humanitarian goal, but rather something that can one day be finished with a real "last well" being dug in Liberia.

Looking Ahead to Aconcagua
As our next team of climbers prepares to conquer another one of the Seven Summits, we sat down with Last Well newcomer Jason Lund for a Q&A to get some inside perspective on the upcoming trip.
Q. How did you get involved with The Last Well?
A. A previous TLW climber encouraged me to check out the cause and the opportunity to push myself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This friend combined with Todd's message to the Frontline community about the mission of TLW compelled me to apply.
Q. What inspired you to join the Aconcagua climb?
A. More than anything, the inspiration came from the 'Chase the Lion Manifesto' which is on my bedroom door. "Dream dreams that are destined to fail without divine intervention." If I want to be close to God, I need to be where He is - in the big dreams that change the world and glorify Him. "We become those we surround ourselves with." I want to surround myself with people who are dedicated to God's calling and have the conviction to follow-through when everything is against them. It's these types of people who would undertake a mission such as this - to provide clean affordable drinking water to all of Liberia in the name of Jesus Christ while climbing the tallest peaks across the world
Q. As you've gone through the training process, in what ways have you seen the Lord working in your life and in the team? A. God regularly reminds me that He is sovereign and I have no control over my own life. I'm completely indebted to Him for each breath, much more so the ability to proclaim his name to others to support the mission of TLW . God reinforced that it is he who knits hearts together, bestows blessings, and changes the world. Entirely by His grace, sometimes he allows me to be a part of His redeeming work throughout the world. I am broken with a cry to God, "I'm not worthy;" I'm humbled that he still chooses me.
