Rabbi's Ramblings......
Shalom Congregants and Friends.....
While our guest scholar was giving his Saturday lunch presentation on October 29, the snow started falling... and falling!! Power went out at BHS Saturday night... and was not restored to the synagogue until last Friday morning!! Some homes don't have it even now!
But we're back; .and especially after these several days of struggle, it was very good to come together at Shabbat services... see each other... and renew our spirits. Sorry we missed our community Shabbat dinner! We tried to call congregants from the office Friday AM. A few people made calls from their homes.... Although we had phone and internet service for a little while, the Comcast connection went down and, as of Sunday AM, was still down.
If you need to reach the shul in the morning and the regular line isn't answering, use my cell 331-0879 for important matters.
Hopefully by next Shabbat things will be back to normal!
Iris and I made hospital and home visitts on Thursday and also stopped by the Bloomfield shelter. Hopefully that, too, will soon be a thing of the past.
The office will send out a regular e-shul on Thursday. Hope you are managing. It was good to see the few people who did make minyanim Friday night and Shabbat morning... hope to see more of you next week!
Remember the "Adult Ed" class Monday evening after 7:30pm minyan!
Don't know yet if we will be able to reschedule the Shabbat diner.
