Looking to donate?
Many girls in our target locations for next year are unable to pay and participate in the program. If you are interested in providing a program scholarship for girls enrolled in the Fall 2009 season, please visit our website and click the DONATE button to make a donation. Scholarship amounts are from $25 to $125. A donation of $250 sponsors one girl for
one year.This amount goes
toward providing trained coaches, the GOTR curriculum, snacks, t-shirts and registration
fees needed to support the program. As part of our mission and commitment to Austin and surrounding
communities, we will bring the Girls on the Run program to all areas in need,
but we need your help.
About Girls on the Run
GOTR is an after-school program that uses the power of running to help prepare pre-teen girls for a lifetime of self-respect, positive choices and healthy living. Over 12 weeks, girls are guided by trained volunteer coaches, and learn about the power of positive self-image. At the end of the semester, in celebration of their achievement, girls along with their families, coaches and volunteers participate in a local 5K race.

Featuring Team Givens
Each month we will introduce you to some of the girls and coaches in our program. This is Team Givens on their first day. Since then two more girls have joined their team. They are a fun & rambunctious group, and this semester will be
a blast! They like to do the splits after they stretch... a LOT! Team Givens: Head Coach Tamika (who works at Givens), Running Rickeisha, Joyful Juquira, Dancing D'asia (in yellow), Kool Kishayla and Asst Coach Kim (she's an attorney in real life). If you'd like to support a specific
team, click HERE.
Donors can indicate who/what team they want the money to be used for. The
donation for teams will go toward finisher medals, t-shirts, foam tiaras,
and 5K course signs to encourage them to finish. |

Use the power of running to make a difference in the life of a girl
Join SoleMates - Girls on the Run charity running program. We are a team of athletes who pursue individual goals, such as running a marathon or completing a triathlon to raise money for Girls on the Run of Austin.
As a benefit of SoleMates,
you also get your own Active.com fundraising page, a technical t-shirt,
and other items the more you fundraise. The minimum fundraising goal
is $262, only $10 a mile! This is a great way for your running to have
greater meaning, and to keep you motivated. Money raised goes directly
to the girls in the form of scholarships, race entries, healthy snacks,
water bottles and t-shirts.
Contact David for more details, running prerequisites and to sign-up for SoleMates.

GIRLS SERVED: This year Girls on the Run Austin will operate in eight locations (some with multiple programs) and will benefit over 100 girls thanks in part to the donations and generosity of our donors and sponors! This is a huge jump from last year with three schools and thirty-six girls. Think of the positive impact that will have on our community!
VOLUNTEERS: To keep all these girls moving forward, we've recruited and trained over 40 new coaches for this season. The coaches are amazing and represent the highest level of standards for Girls on the Run with their integrity and dedication.
On behalf of everyone at Girls on the
Run, THANK YOU for your commitment and dedication to impact the lives
of more and more girls and women each year in our own community.
