 Amputee Camp Sierra Leone- Blood Diamond
After years of conflict thousands where left without arms and legs. This was a war of machetes and psychological warfare where the rebels maimed the people by proving the government was unable to defend them. This lasted a decade. You may have heard or seen the movie Blood Diamond, this is where this occurred....Sad! Following the conflict their #1 need was and is water. I met Samuel Menyongar, a man who loves his country and who was looking and praying for us, an organization, that could provide water for these amputees and surrounding villages. Hear is an exact quote that one of the men sent to me.
" HASSANATU MASSAQUOI ; THE WELL IS VERY GOOD ,IT WILL HELP US AND OUR CHILDREN TO SHORTEN OUR DISTANCE TO FETCH WATER FROM THE SWAMP. WE THANK GOD FOR WATER FOR OUR WORLD FOR GIVING US WATER , WATER IS LIFE."
Thanks to Diamond Canyon School, Bloom Builders and other partners. We now have three wells in this once war torn country that is now healthier because of you!

Interact Club rallied their school on the need for water and their call was answered by raising funds to sponsor a well in a village out side of Loen Nicaragua.Great Job guys! Their wages are $1 a day, to see the well click here...

This past summer Water For Our World provided water to the thirsty right here in the US. We helped supply water to the homeless in Omaha, NE and here in Phoenix, AZ through both the Salvation Army and the United Way.

This village was awesome to visit! Most of the villagers had never seen a white person, hard to believe in this day and age! A woman had told us through a translator that they had to walk 6-10 hours per day for water, and the place they got their water is where people bathed and "relieved themselves." You can imagine their excitement to have clean, fresh water. |
In the video, you'll hear the women's unique celebration of yells/cheers. Think about it, if you had to go for water everyday, no vacations, no weekends, no sick days. I think you'll be yelling for joy also... a must view! CLICK HERE to view well dedication.
