Joining in the Journey:
Introduction to All Pilgrims
Joining the Journey (An Introduction to All Pilgrims) is a wonderful place to explore faith and spirituality within our community of faith. We are a diverse, inclusive gathering who join together in our search to deepen and enrich our faith, passionately serve in ministry, and enjoy the transforming love of God. As we say, "God loves you and there's nothing you can do about it!" What does that mean? Come and see.
- 9:30 - 10:15 am on Sundays - Class begins on Sep 26 and runs for 8 weeks
*To register for a class, please email the Church Office.* |

Men's Group
The men's group has been meeting every Monday morning at 6:30 am. If you have not been there, you're missing out! It has been a lot of fun. We have been studying Song of Song 2:15 -Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, while our vineyards are in blossom.
A little boy was having difficulty lifting a heavy stone.
His father came along just then.
Noting the boy's failure, he asked, "Are you using all your strength?"
"Yes, I am," the little boy said impatiently.
"No, you are not," the father answered.
"I am right here just waiting, and you haven't asked me to help you." |

Council Retreat Leadership, Assests in Action
So often, the experience of leading or being active in church work can feel like a "pouring out" of ourselves. As a result, church leaders must take time to create a supportive community amongst themselves, and to reconnect with sources of spiritual nurture.
The Council Retreat was a blessed opportunity for officers and committee chairs to explore spiritual aspects of leadership, leadership in support of clarifying vision, and of noticing assets in action. The retreat, which took place at the Whidbey Institute, was a chance for participants to experience fellowship and spiritual nurture in support of our work together as a team in the coming year.
We entered the retreat on Friday evening with a ritual of anointing, in which we commissioned each
other with a blessing into our leadership roles for the coming term. We enjoyed an intimate and contemplative worship service in the cedar-scented chapel. On Saturday, we joined with John Forman, our New Beginnings consultant, to bring home some of the results and progress we've experienced on our journey of renewal, and to brush up skills for supporting others taking action in ministry and service at All Pilgrims.
A few periods of downtime were filled with spirited Bocci ball matchups. Many thanks to all those who attended, or who supported us in prayer from afar. We look forward to serving you in the year ahead.
