Summer Highlights
|
 | GLSEN Training of Trainers - July
Becky Lucas, PFLAG Maryville President (and EastTN GSA Board Member), attended the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) National TOT Program. The training prepares Chapter leaders and volunteers to facilitate GLSEN professional development workshops with local educators. The TOT consists of experiential and interactive components designed to build on existing content knowledge and facilitation skills. GLSEN and PFLAG share common goals and partner frequently. |
 | Knoxville Pridefest Parade - Kathy and Gail
On June 25, the 2011 Knoxville PrideFest kicked off festivities with a parade. PFLAG Maryville regulars - Kathy Puckett and Gail Palmer - participated in the parade. Temps were hot, but PrideFest was hotter! With thousands of us gathered on Market Square in Knoxville, we celebrated equality. Knoxville PrideFest is an open celebration of music, entertainment and speakers focused on promoting Equality and Inclusion of ALL people. |
