Dateline New York City, May, 2011- The winners of the Ultimate Beverage Challenge's (UBC) second annual Ultimate Wine Challenge are announced after judging was held at Astor Center in New York City on May 2-6, 2011. Based on the 100 Point rating system the 2009 Daniel Gehrs Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon received a 94 Point rating together with accolades of "Excellent", "Highly Recommended" "Finalist" and, importantly in today's competitive market, "Great Value" at the winery suggested retail price of only $20. Tasting Notes from the extraordinary panel of judges including two Masters of Wine (MW) read: "Red fruit compote notes in the perfumed, cranberry bouquet. Harmonious balance and easy tannins highlight the textbook Cabernet flavor profile. Long, luxurious finish."
