Your donation was key to the Esther Honey Foundation reaching our matching funds goal!
Dear ,
Thank you. Your caring support combined with the generosity of The Estelle Friedman Gervis Family Foundation will allow us to continue to provide veterinary treatment and shelter for thousands of animals who, without our combined efforts, would have no place to turn if they are injured, sick or starving.
Your donation will help pay for veterinary drugs, free spay/neuter, and relieve the excruciating suffering of our fish poisoning patients. 97% of your donation will go directly to our animal care programs.
In 2011, the Cook Island's only veterinary hospital, the Esther Honey Foundation Animal Clinic,
- Treated more than 3,000 animals at no charge. Homeless and owned animals received comparable care and no healthy animals were euthanized.
- Sheltered and rehomed 277 dogs and cats.
- Served 16,768 meals to animals in our care.
- Conducted four EHF VET TREKS® to remote outer islands to reach animals who would not receive care if not for the Esther Honey Foundation and donors like you.
- Launched an expanded major education program for Cook Islands children.
And the next part might be the best part. Our 2011 census confirmed that we have now reduced the number of Rarotonga dogs from 6,000 to 1,666. More than 70% of the remaining dogs have been sterilized. This means that the number of unwanted cats and dogs will continue to decrease leaving fewer and fewer hungry, suffering, abused and neglected animals as long as, with your help, EHF provides ongoing service.
Again, please accept our heartfelt thanks for your contribution. Your donation will help to guarantee the future for our programs. Together, the difference that we are making for animals and their community can be permanent.
Best, Cathy Sue Ragan-Anunsen President & CEO The Esther Honey Foundation www.estherhoney.org

(Many of the animals who arrive at our door are discarded, severely injured or ill, but as the video shows, skilled veterinary care, love and determination can turn a heart-wrenching story into a happy ending.)
