ASQ Six Sigma Forum to Host Expert Panel/Roundtable, Pyzdek to Appear
ASQ's Six Sigma Forum is sponsoring a combination expert panel/roundtable discussion (based on the café model that ASQ has been using for discussions) on Wednesday morning, May 26, at WCQI from 8 am - 10 am. Attendance has been capped for the session at 64 attendees, who will be arranged in tables of eight. There will be six sigma related topics assigned to each table. New Online Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Course Announced |
The Pyzdek Institute has released it's online lean six sigma Black Belt training course. The material integrates Lean and Six Sigma topics into a 69 module course. Each module contains reading assignments from Pyzdek's Six Sigma Handbook, the standard reference on the subject recognized world-wide. Autographed copies of the Handbook are included with the course. Also included in each module are storyboards; narrated, interactive lessons; assignments; and quizzes. The new course is competitively priced. Optional payment plans are available.

Volcano Disrupts Just-in-Time Deliveries

Just-in-Time system experienced problems due to the Iceland
volcanic eruption. The strategy of keeping inventories lean paid off for
U.S. manufacturers during the recession. Just-in-time delivery of
parts makes even more sense when budgets are tight. But when a giant ash

Bailed Out Automakers Produce the Worst Quality on the Road
 Forbes.com reports that six of the seven worst cars
on the road are produced by either GM or Chrysler Corporation, the two
auto companies which received billions of dollars in government bailout
funds. Sadly, the seventh car on the list is also American made, a Ford
