"The greatest oak was once a little nut that held its ground."
Are you a nut? It's good to be a little nutty!
Think of all the innovators, creators, forward thinkers, and "geniuses" of the past. They all were thought to be a nut by those around them.
They held their ground and we are so glad they did. We would not have any of the modern conveniences that we have today.
Henry Ford was thought to be a nut, and the automobile was dubbed a "fad" by some naysayers. What if Mr. Ford had listened to them?
What if Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Einstein, whoever, would have listened to their detractors? Life would not be so good now.
You may have an idea in you that you want to pursue and others in your life may be calling you a nut. Some are just negative folks, and some are well-meaning people who love you. They care about you and they want you to "be safe."
They tell you to stay in a job you hate or stay in a relationship that is stifling you just because it gives you "security." Does it really? Does feeling like you are going to explode, or wither or die, really feel secure?
I wrote a newspaper column recently on my newly launched JOY Beyond Your Dreams Life Mastery Program. I stated that we are responsible for our lives and we can create our life how we want it to be. By taking a step toward happiness, we can have joy that really is beyond anything we have imagined.
A woman called my 800 number and left a message telling me I was nuts. In fact, she said I must be on narcotics.
I understand that some people think it is nutty to believe that we have control over our own happiness. I also hold my ground. I may not be a great oak, but I have a pretty amazing life and I love teaching people how to do the same.
If that is nutty, so be it. I like being a nut. I encourage you to be one too.
Follow your heart. Hold your ground.
Words to Ponder:
The creation of a thousand forests is one acorn.
