How's the lucky experiment going for you?

If you remember from last week's joy letter, if you think lucky, you'll be lucky. I stated I was a lucky gal, and I am. My phone rang Friday telling me that I was the big winner in the Lucky Pot of Gold drawing at Iro Cosmetics (they made my joy lipstick, remember?), so that is just one example. I've got a million of 'em. How about you?

Reading the Friday ezine is great, but this "happy stuff" has to be put into practice the rest of the week too. Some of you peruse this little ditty throughout the week; some of you dip into the archives. Some of you read positive stuff, watch positive stuff, and train your brain to seek positive stuff.

Yep, it's all about training the brain. That's the key: Rewiring and redirecting our natural proclivity for negativity if we tend to dwell on the "crap." It does not have to stay that way. You can create new pathways in the brain that literally go to a sunnier place.

It's not hard. It just takes repetition. Daily happiness practice and habits.

The joy journal is a biggee. Look for the things every day that light you up. Being grateful is a huge booster to the internal circuitry. Have you cut out the gossip and complaining? Have you implemented the sleep you need, good food, and some kind of exercise? Simply walking outside is a great start.

Gravitate to the people who make you laugh. Limit your time with the people who drain you. Same with activities. Pay attention. Oh my gosh, say that again. Pay attention to your life. Don't let it run you over. You are the conductor of this train and maybe it's time to switch tracks.

Give the lucky experiment another week. The wise man who did the study had the participants give it a month. You game?

Words to Ponder:

I am the conductor of my life.
