Happy Birthday to me.

And to the gazillion other fall birthdays. (Oh what a night, late December back in 63!)

Oscar Wilde said: One should never trust a woman who tells her real age. If she tells that, she'll tell anything.
I disagree. I'll tell my real age (26).
He also said, "I have the simplest tastes. I'm always satisfied with the best." With that statement, Oscar and I see eye to eye.

My healthyrockford.com blog this week was my birthday wish list. Nary a Sears catalog was used. I could write a never ending list. Then again, maybe not.

Fall Equinox celebration at Womanspace included walking the labyrinth by candlelight. The glow of the full moon was all we needed. (There has not been a full moon on fall equinox in 19 years.)

As I walked, faces of various people I know popped into my consciousness. I sent them light and love. The night, the energy, the spirit radiated.

As I entered the circle, the only thought of me/my issues/my struggles, was my voice telling me: I am in want of nothing.

Hmm. Earlier I had a laundry list of wants.
I guess it's all coming my way. Because now, I am in want of nothing.

Words to Ponder:

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill, my share of losing
....and I did it my way

~Paul Anka

In addition to three joy droppings, you need to think of three things you like about YOU. Liking yourself and loving yourself leads to true internal happiness. Happiness has to come from within.

Let's see.... what I like about me...

* I laugh out loud. (I never used to.)

* Ending a sentence with a preposition doesn't bother me.

* I can name that tune. (Try me.)

The Essence of JOY is finding YOUR inner essence

In an email reply this week, I wrote:
The retreat is like an expedition into the soul. We will mine our lives for joy, your private joy and universal joy. I have invested a lot of time, energy, and dollars into my journey and I am now compelled to help others break out of their rut. (I have an acronym for RUT - I have lots of acronyms that I'll teach).
The day will be a chance to focus on you, your heart, your soul. I have simple guided "exercises" we will do, I have practical application tools, I have "what makes me me" stuff. I have lots of stuff to share. It is not just me presenting - there will be some of that - it will also be time to let go of the outer world and listen to the inner. The more we can make our inner world be our outer world, the more joyful life is.
Getting a chance to find that inner you is what the retreat day is about. One day, just for you. It will be a small group, and of course you'll have time in the gardens since Anderson Gardens is such a healing place. The people who will come are pulled to be there. I want to create a sacred space for us that day, and teach you to create a sacred space for yourself anywhere.

One of the JOY gifts you'll receive that day.

PreRegister. Space is limited.

 Joy is within you.

parting shot...

long story, but in short: A Synchronicity.....

I learned of Uzume today (oo-zoo-may).
Who is Uzume?
Japanese Shinto goddess of JOY and Happiness.
Synchronicity #1 - Retreat will be at Japanese Gardens
#2 - JOY is Journey of You or U! Uzume
#3 - Uzume means whirling.
I often say I feel most joyful when I'm swirling, whirling, and twirling.
#4 - Uzume's lesson for us: to DANCE! to laugh!
Uzume did a comic dance to lure the Sun Goddess out of the cave >
Dancing and Laughing bring out the sun.
#5 - Uzume is fun to say. ;)
