Be a LIME.
When life hands you lemons, be a lime. No matter what life hands you, think lime.
Language
Intention
Mindset
Energy
Watch your language, your self-talk. What messages are you sending to yourself? Stop yourself every time you say, "I'm fat;" "I'm stupid;" "I'm broke" "Nothing ever goes my way;" "Everything bad always happen in my life." And on and on and on.
If a co-worker spilled coffee on his shirt, would you yell at him: "Of course you spilled it! You idiot! You're such a klutz. Now your whole day is ruined. You never do anything right."
Don't talk to yourself that way either. Pay attention to what you say, internally and out loud. Stop the negative. Rephrase with a positive. Laugh off life's little mistakes.
Set your intention EVERY day. It can be as simple as "I will enjoy today." Focusing your thoughts reminds that YOU are indeed the boss of your brain. You can learn to rule your thoughts.
That leads to mindset. Maintaining the mindset of a realistic optimist takes practice. Use specific language and set specific intentions. Your mindset needs to be one of belief and trust that good will come your way.
It's all interrelated and all about energy. If you wander through the day believing life is a big Mack truck going to run you down, that is the kind of life you will have.
Pay attention to where you are sending your energy. Focus on what lights you up, lifts you up, energizes you. Bring more of that into your life and get rid of the energy-sucking people and activities and thoughts.
Focusing our thoughts takes efforts; the rewards are so worth it. When life hands you lemons, you'll cope better because you "lime."
Words to Ponder:
We all talk to ourselves. A major key to success exists in what we say to ourselves, which helps to shape our attitude and mindset. -Darren L. Johnson |

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT ME:
For those new to the JOY letter, every night you are to jot down three things in your joy journal that made you smile/brought you peace/made you laugh/made you glow with appreciation/went your way.
ALSO you need to think of three things you like about yourself. Liking yourself and loving yourself leads to true internal happiness. Happiness has to come from within.
Let's see.... what I like about me...
* I listen with my head and my heart
* I know when to hold 'em, I know when to fold 'em
* I love being in my 40's
