When you become secure in yourself, you see the world with a new point of view. A healthier outlook creates a healthier you (and vice versa). You still will have wants and desires of course, but you won't need to define yourself by your possessions, profession, or partner.

 

Happiness is internal. Things/people/experiences can give you pleasure, but sustainable happiness happens when you are confident in yourself. When you have confidence, you make better choices, have better perspective, and usually do not wilt (or lash out) in the face of challenges.

 

Start to develop your happiness habits today. Right here, right now, think of five things you like about yourself. tomorrow think of five more.

 

Every day in your joy journal, jot down your joy droppings and the "What I like about me" nuggets. Keep on building your foundation of happiness and the big bad wolves of life will not be able to blow your house down.
