Talk to yourself.
The "joy book" is now in the hands of the Book Fairy (Susan Daffron, Logical Expressions, author of Publishize). It will be in your hands soon.
One thing I mention in the book is to affirm yourself.
Joy begins with you, because it is you. J-O-Y = Journey of You.
You gotta like you before you can ever really be happy. Liking yourself and liking your life opens up the floodgates of joy. Some days you might feel like you have to talk yourself into it. That's okay.
We need to talk to ourselves every day. Remind yourself that you are pretty darn great and things are okay too. Follow this little girl's example.
Words to Ponder~
I like my hair. I like my pajamas. I like my whole house.
I can do anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah!

HOW TO SELL TOOTHBRUSHES
The class assignment was to sell something.
Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly. "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civic spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."
Little Jenny was next: "I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45. I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events."
Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her breath ...
Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467," he said.
"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?"
"Toothbrushes," said Little Johnny.
"Toothbrushes!" echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"
"I found the busiest corner in town," said Little Johnny. "I set up a Dip & Chip stand and gave everybody who walked by a free sample."
They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog poop!"
Then I would say,"It is dog poop. Wanna buy a toothbrush?"

I'm listening to Ronnie Milsap, pondering all the blind guys who are so gifted on the piano; I barely can find middle C. I once wrote a column about my wish for musical talent. My conclusion: someone has to be the appreciative audience. I will gladly take that role. Whether you play, sing, or enjoy, music is a universal uniter, soother, and energizer. Let's use it. (Hmm, acronym:USE = Unite, Soothe, Energize).
