It's a small world.
Last week I included the iconic Mary Tyler Moore hat toss photo. (There is a statue of MTM in Minneapolis doing this fling to the wind. Road trip anyone?)
My friend Lori Koepp sent me this about that photograph:
Fun fact for you...the lady in the Mary Tyler Moore shot with the hair scarf turning and staring at her is Dave's Aunt Harriet!! When that was filmed she came home and told everyone,"There was some crazy lady throwing her hat in the air in the middle of the street today." Little did she know she'd be seen by billions every MTM episode!"
HOW FUN IS THAT!
You're gonna make it after all.

Joy = Life |
7 Simple Steps
You've seen this before (maybe in a prior joy letter). It's good to be reminded from time to time.
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. 2. Keep only cheerful friends. 3. Keep learning. 4. Enjoy the simple things. 5. Laugh often, long and loud... Laugh until you gasp for breath. 6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. 7. Surround yourself with what you love.

Pusillanimous (adjective)
Pronunciation: [pyu-si-'l-n-ms]
Definition: Faint-hearted, lacking courage.
Usage: The meaning of this adjective is weaker and less offensive than "cowardly." The noun is pusillanimity [pyu-s-l-'ni-m-tee].
Suggested Usage: Don't be too pusillanimous to use today's word; it isn't all that long and stands in nicely for "faint-hearted" when you need a weaker term than "cowardly." " It helps you avoid "fear" too: "Only his pusillanimity with women has prevented Carlton from asking Meredith to marry him."
Etymology: Late Latin pusillanimis from Latin pusillus "weak," diminutive of pullus "young (animal)" + animus "soul, spirit, mind." "Pullus" is related to English "pullet" and comes from pusus "boy," related to puer "boy" which gave English "puerile." Latin "animus" is related to Greek anemos "wind" whence English anemone. "Pullus" comes from the underlying root pau- "small, few" which turns up in English "few" and "foal."

Sunrise, sunset |
This is not an online quiz.
Hug or Kiss? (I NEED BOTH.)
Chocolate or Vanilla (BOTH, in a twist cone.)
Sunrise or Sunset? (BOTH, watch the sunset and stay up to see sunrise.)
Back in June, Tammy Lewis (Director of Center for Learning in Retirement - they rock!) emailed this photo she snapped of the evening sky in Rockford. She wanted to send me joy and she had no idea I was a sunset person. Ah, synchronicities....
